When the man got to Blount Street, he crashed the vehicle he was driving into several cars including two patrol vehicles belonging to the Monroe County Sheriff’s Office. The police said that rather than surrendering, Bowden brought out a pistol, causing the officers to shoot him multiple times.
The investigators recovered the pistol after a search of his car, and medics at the scene successfully kept the man alive. They transported the suspect to Navicent Medical Center for further treatment, where he remains in critical condition. No officer sustained injuries in the altercation.
The Forsyth Police Department and the MCSO asked the Georgia Bureau of investigation to launch an inquiry into the events that led to Bowden’s arrest. The authorities would transport the man to a county jail once he recovers from his injuries.
Under Georgia law, the charges the suspect would face depends on the final findings of GBI, and he would need auto accident attorneys to represent his interests.
