A motorcycle accident in Marietta, Georgia, left a man dead, while another went unscathed, and it’s unlikely that a motorcycle attorney would be needed. The Marietta Police identified the victim of the Tuesday, April 14th, accident as Dennis Wolk, 63, of Cartersville.
Police officers with the MPD said that the accident occurred a little before 6 p.m. on Interstate 75, south of Gresham Road overpass. The preliminary investigation uncovered that Wolk was riding a 2017 Harley Davidson Electra Glide motorcycle in the second lane from the far left.

At the time of the crash, traffic had slowed down due to an investigation by the Georgia State Patrol of an earlier collision. A 2017 Peterbilt box truck driven by 49-year-old Bennie Demps, of Atlanta was in front of the motorcyclist.
Wolk, for reasons still unknown, failed to slow down or stop and ended up striking the truck. He sustained severe injuries, and the paramedics pronounced him dead at the scene. Demps, on the other hand, was unscathed.
The police said they would not bring any charge against the box truck driver. They have asked anyone who witnessed the crash to contact the Marietta Police Department’s Selective Traffic Enforcement Program.
Motorcycle crashes often occur due to the negligence of the motorcyclist. Accident reports have shown that riders going at top speed or in an impaired state, crash their bike and die from the injuries sustained.
However, there are instances when a vehicle strikes a motorcycle as a result of the driver’s negligence, not the motorcyclist. In such cases, the victim can sue and would need to hire a motorcycle attorney.
