Single-vehicle accidents are one of the leading causes of crash-related deaths and they are not uncommon on California roadways. Common causes of this type of accident are driving under the influence of drugs or alcohol, distracted driving, speeding, or animal sighting.
Drivers can mitigate the above factors by prioritizing safety when on the road and following the safety guidelines released by law enforcement and traffic agencies. Additionally, drive within the posted or legal speed limit, focus on the roadway by putting aside distractions, and frequently maintain the vehicle.
