The victim received CPR at the shore, and the medics took him to the hospital after detecting a pulse. However, Kennedy passed away while receiving treatment in the hospital. The police said that the male driver of the boat later called to report the accident and explain why he didn’t remain at the scene.
According to the investigators, the man said his boat could have taken on water after the collision. The police have not cited the incident as a hit-and-run offense, and there’s no report of an arrest. The SDPD impounded the boat, and the driver could face charges after the conclusion of the investigation.
Water sports are great for relaxing, but accidents often occur at the least expected times, and one of them is jet ski crashes. Safety tips for operating the personal watercraft (PWC) equipment include being aware of all the objects on the water, including docks, objects, and boats.
Never operate a jet ski less than two feet of water, and wear proper safety gear when riding the vehicle, including a life jacket. Attach the cord connected to the start, and always make sure any passenger is aware of movements ahead of time.
