The California Highway Patrol is making findings on a fatal crash that occurred in a creek bed in San Miguel, SLO County, California. The investigation comes after the discovery of the body of a man identified Daniel Koudelka and his vehicle by a rancher, per accident reports.
The rancher found the body on Monday, June 1, at about 5:20 pm. He was tending to his flock when he spotted a vehicle resting in a sandy creek. The man alerted the authorities who rushed to the location.

After carrying out preliminary investigations, the officers believed that the deceased, Daniel G. Koudelka was driving the vehicle before he crashed on Sunday, May 31.
The report stated that at about 6:45 am on Sunday, Koudelka was driving a 2013 Nissan Juke and heading north on Ranchita Canyon Road at an unknown speed. He then turned the car from a straight course of travel and went off the road onto a dirt shoulder.
His car overturned, before going down a steep dirty gully. Investigations revealed that the vehicle overturned thrice before stopping on its wheels in a dry creek bed. The deceased suffered critical injuries that led to his death.
According to accident reports, the CHP expects impairment to be a factor in the crash. Officers are continuing with their investigations into the fatal collision, but are yet to make any more information available.
Drivers must stop speeding when on the wheels of their vehicles. They must always go at moderate speeds that do not exceed the limit of the roads they travel.
