A City of El Paso employee is taking to media outlets to find a driver who hit him. Curtis Peters was only a few blocks away from his Northeast El Paso apartment when the accident occurred.
On February 16 around 1:00 a.m. Peters was driving home after leaving his new job with the City of El Paso. A nearby storage facility got the entire accident on camera.

The driver of the car that hit Peters was going down Quail Avenue. The car was estimated to have been traveling 50-60 miles per hour at the time of the collision.
According to Peters, that car took the entire front end of his car off. Then the car sped off.
Peters’ car was considered totaled in the accident.
He was unaware that he was injured until he called 911 after the accident. His right foot was completely dislocated from his leg. Medical professionals had to set it back into place.
The downtime from his injuries in the accident is estimated to be about 3 months.
Because he was a new city employee, his health insurance benefits had not kicked in yet. The City of El Paso has been able to offer him an unpaid leave of absence while he recovers so that his job remains intact.
Without health insurance, Peters and his wife are trying to pay for all the expenses of the accident on their own. They have had to borrow money.
They are hoping that the person who hit him in the middle of February will step forward so that they can file a claim with their insurance for the damages. They want the person who did this to be held accountable for their actions.
The El Paso Police have not offered any updates on the investigation into the hit-and-run accident.
