The lead up to President’s Day weekend has taken its toll on California motorcycle riders with two dead, one at the hands of a suspected drunk driver, and another with major injuries.
A 38-year-old motorcyclist died after running into a parked construction trailer in Huntington Beach on Saturday, Feb. 15. The accident happened at Springdale Street and Littlefield Driver at about 3:20 a.m.

Paramedics pronounced Bryan Ball of Newport Beach dead at the scene.

In Bakersfield, motorcyclist Deion Nobles, 24, died after being struck by an alleged drunk driver on Friday, Feb. 14, at about 6 p.m. The driver of a pickup truck struck Nobles at the intersection of Chester Avenue and 2nd Street. Reports state the pickup truck driver allegedly made an unsafe turn at the intersection.
Authorities pronounced Nobles dead at the scene.
Police named the alleged impaired driver as Torres Dawson and arrested Dawson for suspicion of driving under the influence and gross vehicular manslaughter. Authorities booked Dawson into the Kern County jail.

In a third collision, a motorcycle and a vehicle crashed Friday, Feb. 14, on southbound Interstate 15 in San Diego. The accident happened at about 3:26 p.m. near Scripps Poway Parkway and Mercy Road; as a result of the crash, first-responders found the motorcycle in the HOV lane,
Reports indicate the vehicles involved included a 2017 Yamaha YZF-R6 and a small Honda coupe.
