Auto-motorcycle collisions are not uncommon in California as seen in accident reports. The Department of Motor Vehicles advises motorcyclists to wear the right gear when riding. It gives them a better chance of surviving accidents and prevents severe injuries.
The Cal-DMV advise that bikers wear the US-DOT compliant helmet with face and eye protection. They should also wear protective apparels like leather, or a long sleeve jacket with reflective materials, long heavy pants, over the ankle closed toe-boots and full-fingered leather gloves.
