The Mohave County Sheriff’s officials in a press release on Monday, August 3rd, revealed the identities of the two fatal victims of a boat collision at the Colorado River’s mouth in western Arizona. They are Jim Lee Dolson, 51, of Northridge, and Shawn Corey Fasulkey, 40, of Canyon County.
The victims are both from California. The accident report released earlier disclosed that the collision happened late Friday, July 31st. Multiple agencies near the Arizona-California border responded to the call about the incident, and divers pulled Dolson and Fasulkey out of the water with severe injuries.

The medics at the scene pronounced the victims dead. Sheriff’s officials said that a third man, a 51-year-old resident of Arletta, California, sustained significant injuries and got admitted into a Nevada hospital in critical condition.
The preliminary investigation said the three men were in a 21-foot boat that collided with a 42-foot boat as the two vessels traveled southbound on the river. The sheriff’s investigators said that the operator of the bigger vessel submitted to a blood sample, but there was no sign of impairment.
The police also conducted a toxicology test of the three other men on the smaller boat, and the result is pending. There is no additional information at this time, the sheriff’s office will release an update later. Boaters should avoid drinking alcohol while boating, understand and obey boating safety recommendations and navigational rules, and wear a life jacket.
