Hundreds of area residents on Saturday attended a service memorializing the four Massachusetts residents killed during a family trip to Disney World in mid-February.
Julie Smith, 41, of Whitman, was killed in the Feb. 18 wreck in Kissimmee, Fla., as was her daughter, Scarlett, 5, and mother, Josephine Fay, 76, of Weymouth, according to the Associated Press. Eleven-year-old Jaxon Smith died the following day at an area hospital.

Authorities said the family’s fan was driving on Florida 429 in Osceola County at about 5:30 p.m. Feb. 18 when it was rear-ended by a pickup truck driven by Lucas Dos Reis Laurindo, 26, of Kissimmee. The van then flipped over.
The other occupants of the van — Shane Smith, 43, Shalie Smith, 10, Skylar Smith, 5, and William Fay, 76, — survived the crash.
Multiple people memorialized the fallen family members during a service Saturday at St. Francis Xavier Church. A reception then was held at the VFW Hall in Whitman, according to media reports.
Florida Highway Patrol troopers told media outlets that Laurindo cooperated with investigators, provided a blood sample and did not seem impaired. However, they said charges likely are pending.
