Clark Duane Dauner, 80, passed away after going off the road on Highway 74 south of Palm Desert, California. He was the former President and CEO of the California Hospital Association.

The preliminary investigation conducted by the lawmen disclosed that the Ford overturned down a steep embankment, but the reason it went off the road remained elusive. Dauner was not wearing a seatbelt, and the crash ejected him from the vehicle. He sustained extensive wounds and passed away at the scene.
Dauner was a significant influence and contributor to the healthcare industry in California. Working with the CHA, he represented the interest of nearly 400 hospitals and health systems in the state from 1985 to 2017. The victim also lectured at graduate programs in several universities state-side.
The man worked as an assistant professor at Washburn University in Topeka, Kansas, before starting his hospital association career at the Kansas Hospital Association in 1996. He was also the President and CEO of the Missouri Hospital Association in ’75.
