On Saturday, February 1, 27-year-old CJ Clifton was coming home from work on his motorcycle. He was only a few miles away from home when he was involved in an accident that ended up taking his life. His fiancé, 28-year-old Rachel Nyfield was waiting for him at home and could hear sirens in the distance.
In the original news report, Round Rock police had responded to the accident at the intersection of East Palm Valley Boulevard and Georgetown Street at 3:30 p.m.

The people who called in reported that the motorcycle had crashed into a truck and caught fire.
Clifton was pronounced dead on the scene. They believe that his death was instantaneous with the accident, but a good Samaritan did stop and try to perform CPR on him.
There is still an ongoing investigation as to what exactly caused the collision between the truck and the motorcycle. The police are unsure if the truck had run the red light or if Clifton had tried to rush through the yellow light. No citations have been issued regarding the accident and the driver of the truck.
The driver of the truck was not injured in the accident and cooperated fully with the police at the scene.
Nyfield and Clifton were supposed to take their engagement photos that evening at a friend’s house and allow their three children to play.
Nyfield has set up a GoFundMe page to help with funeral expenses with a goal of $12,000. Clifton grew up in Round Rock and initially met Nyfield when they were taking a sign language class together.
A post on Facebook days before by Clifton was in reference to looking twice for motorcyclists. He and Nyfield shared the love of motorcycles together. She said that when a motorcycle rider falls you ride in honor of them, you don’t stop riding. She intends to do just that, keep on riding, not only for herself but for the children as well.
