BAKERSFIELD, CA – Troopers with the California Highway Patrol are looking into the cause of a collision that took the life of a motorcyclist early Sunday morning.
According to KBAK, the accident occurred at about 3:20 a.m. along Roberts Lane near the intersection with Manor Street.

Investigators believe the 33-year-old motorcyclist lost control of his vehicle and veered into a guardrail causing him to be ejected from the motorcycle. Moments after the collision occurred a dark-colored Chevrolet Impala struck the man who was lying in the roadway and immediately sped away from the scene.
The motorcyclist, whose identity has not yet been released, was pronounced deceased at the scene of the crash.
No further information with regard to the driver of the Chevrolet has been released at this time.
