A woman in Waco, Texas, would have to hire a top accident lawyer after hitting a car, fleeing the scene of an accident, and resisting arrest. The Waco Police Department on Tuesday, April 21st, arrested Charlotte Renee Ward, for the three offenses.
The preliminary accident report showed that the events that led to the woman’s arrest began at about 6:30 p.m. at the intersection of Waco Drive and Valley Mills Drive. The WPD said that a patrol officer witnessed Ward hit a car at the intersection, before fleeing west on Waco Drive.

The officer then tried to get the suspect to pull over, but she kept on driving, leading to a short pursuit. Ward’s vehicle eventually stopped in the parking lot of First National Bank on the service road of Highway 84, west of Highway 6.
The policeman and other law enforcement officers at the scene found a woman and an unidentified passenger in the vehicle. The latter cooperated with the lawmen and was released; they took Ward into custody.
The suspect resisted the arrest and kicked the inside of the patrol car meant for transporting her. The officers took her to a local hospital for a medical checkup before booking her into the McLennan County Jail.
The police suspected that Ward gave them a fake name but later confirmed that she told the truth. They also found out that the woman has two outstanding warrants for two counts of theft or more before convictions with bond set at $250 000.
The suspect is facing charges of evading arrest, resisting transportation, failure to identify as a fugitive, and failure to stop and identify in an accident with property damage, hence the need for a top accident lawyer.
