An accident on the afternoon of Saturday, April 18, sent a Macomb woman and three minors to the hospital for treatment of injuries. The accident occurred around 3:15 p.m. on County Road 1500 North near the intersection of County Road 1100 East.
Based on the preliminary accident reports, 45-year-old Charlotte Clark was driving a red 2002 Honda Accord westbound on County Road 1500 North when she lost control of the vehicle. After entering the gravel shoulder, the Accord then crossed both lanes of traffic and entered the southside ditch. After rolling, the car came to rest back in the roadway.

According to the Illinois State Police, Clark had three passengers in the vehicle at the time of the accident, all of whom are minors. One of those passengers and Clark ended up being ejected from the vehicle during the accident. The reports were not clear which passenger it was.
As a result of the accident, Clark was care flighted to an area hospital. The minors, aged 6, 15, and 17, were transported via ambulance to a local hospital. Based on the reports, none of the injuries sustained in the accident were considered to be life-threatening.
Neither Clark or the ejected passenger were wearing seatbelts at the time of the accident. It was unclear if the two minors in the backseat wore them either.
The charges against Clark are not public at this time, but they are pending her release from the hospital. The cause of her leaving the roadway is currently still under investigation.
