The driver who drove under the influence and caused an accident in Modesto, California, that killed his passenger, would need a drunk driving attorney’s service. The authorities took Cariaun Williams, 24, of Turlock into custody on Sunday night, May 17th.
The report by the California Highway Patrol disclosed that Williams was driving a ’97 Lexus northbound on Highway 99, south of Modesto’s Ninth Street exit. He had 25-year-old, Kalaina Tolden, of Antioch as his passenger.

The young man was driving at top speed when he suddenly lost control of the vehicle. He struck a guardrail dividing the northbound and southbound lanes, causing the Lexus to spin and overturn on its right side.
CHP’s Officer Thomas Olsen said that when emergency services arrived at the scene, they found Williams with a laceration to his left wrist and other minor injuries. He was standing outside the wrecked car with Tolden still trapped inside.
The first responders successfully extricated the woman from the vehicle, and the medics took her to Doctors Medical Center, where the doctors pronounced her dead. The investigators said that neither the suspect nor the deceased had their seat belts on when they crashed.
They determined that Williams was intoxicated while driving and took him into custody. He is facing charges of gross vehicular manslaughter while intoxicated, DUI causing injury, and driving on a suspended license. Jail records show that the suspect remains in custody with his bail set at $125 000.
Drivers who drink, drive, and cause an accident should contact a drunk driving attorney to represent their interests.
