Following the accident one car was wrapped around a telephone pole and another car remained motionless in the center of the intersection with a significant amount of damage to its front end. Both cars will need extensive repairs if they are able to be salvaged.
Police closed the road to prevent further injuries and/or electrocutions. The power company was called to assist with the repair of the power lines and to help secure the scene.
All traffic lights at the intersection stopped working. So, traffic was rerouted through a detour in order to prevent further accidents. There were no fatalities in the accident. However, the injuries to one of the drivers could be serious. The intersection will be shut down until all of the repairs can be made. It is currently unclear how long these repairs could take. For now, drivers in the area are advised to use an alternative route and to avoid the intersection
