Witnesses on the scene said that the light for northbound Farm-to-Market 423 had the green light signal. The southbound lanes had the flashing yellow arrow for the turn lane during the time of the accident.
Preliminary reports about the accident stated that Raja, Avula, and Ramanatham were in a black Acura attempting to turn from Farm-to-Market 423 and on to Del Webb. A black Ford F-150 was traveling northbound on Farm-to-Market 423 at the same time that the Acura attempted to make their turn.

The occupants of the Acura were pronounced dead at the scene of the accident. The driver of the Ford was taken to the hospital and treated for minor injuries in the accident.

There is currently a GoFundMe account set up for the third victim, Ramanatham. His friends simply called him “Prem”. He was the sole supporter of his family and now people are trying to help them via the fundraiser.
The Telugu Association of North America is currently working with the Consulate General of India in Houston. They are trying to help the families and friends of the deceased get through all of the formalities required to fly the bodies back to Hyperabad.
