Emergency responders from Serena and Sheridan arrived at the crash location. They were joined by men from the coroners and the sheriff’s office.
The crash remains under investigation. However, no additional information is available. Apart from paying attention to risks posed by other road users, drivers must also be alert to the dangers of animals on the road.
Collisions between animals and vehicles on the road tend to increase yearly and now seem inevitable. Hence, motorists must take measures to reduce the risk of animal accidents.
Drivers must be careful when they are near animal crossing warning signs and drive slowly. They must also avoid distractions from passengers, food, or cell phones. These distractions prevent them from spotting animals on the road in time.
Drivers should also be in the habit of surveying the roadside as they drive to see if there are any stray animals. They must always use their seatbelts and never drive above the speed limit.
Accident reports show that many animal accidents are mostly under-reported. Most of them are reported as collisions when drivers swerve or stop to avoid striking an animal.
