The medics transported Bolin to an undisclosed hospital, and the ISP arrested him for driving under the influence and improper operation of an ATV. There is no additional information.
Driving under the influence of alcohol is a criminal offense in Illinois and carries severe penalties like fines, prison time, and suspension of driving privileges. The state uses a consent law; it implies that anyone in physical control of a vehicle implicitly agrees to provide a breath, blood, or urine sample to a police officer who arrests them with probable cause to test for drugs or alcohol.
The state forbids adults with .08 blood alcohol content or higher to operate a vehicle. Commercial drivers must have less than .04 BAC, and minors should have .00BAC due to the Illinois zero-tolerance policy for teenage drivers. Drivers should desist from the preceding by ensuring they don’t drink and drive, and when they do, they should seek alternative means of transportation.
