Preliminary investigations revealed the fatal victim was driving through the eastbound lanes of travel when a wrong-way vehicle struck him. The reports confirmed that the vehicle which struck 50-year-old Bradley Taylor was reportedly driving through Harborside Drive at a high rate of speed before the crash. Taylor’s car suddenly drifted into oncoming traffic, where it struck the victim’s westbound vehicle.
Almost immediately, another eastbound vehicle, a semi-truck, came along and collided with the cars involved in the initial crash. The two smaller vehicles ended up severely dented, leaving their motorists severely injured. The semi driver emerged unharmed.
First responders transported the injured victims to the University of Texas Medical Branch for treatment. Taylor died from his injuries not long after he arrived at the medical facility. The condition of the second injured motorist at this time is not known.
Deputies did not immediately charge any of the involved parties in relation to the crash.
It is advisable to involve a car accident lawyer in cases involving a traffic collision, whether or not it results in a fatality.
