Motor vehicle accidents or traffic collisions occur when a car strikes another, a person, debris, or stationary objects like trees, a fence, mailbox, or signposts. Collisions can be a single crash, two-vehicle collisions, or multiple vehicle collisions depending on the circumstances.
Common factors that cause accidents cover driving intoxicated, going at speed faster than is safe for road conditions, and acts of distraction when driving. It takes about three seconds for a distracted driver to get into a collision; thus, drivers must look ahead, unless to glance at the side mirrors from time to time.
Accidents often led to injuries, and when they are not fatal, they can be life-altering. The latter covers wounds that lead to amputations, loss of an organ, paralysis due to spinal cord damage, and possible brain damage.
