An accident report update from the city of Austin, Texas, over the weekend, revealed that the authorities identified the woman who died in a single-vehicle crash. On Saturday, May 9th, the Texas Department of Public Safety named Mary Casey, 29, of Round Rock as the victim.
The preliminary report by the TDPS showed that the woman died in the early hours of Wednesday morning, May 6th. Investigators said that at about 1:20 a.m., Casey was traveling as a passenger in a 2015 Honda Fit, alongside an unidentified male driver.

The driver was going at 35 miles per hour on the south lane of Spicewood Springs Road and failed to negotiate a left-hand bend appropriately. The vehicle went off the roadway and crashed into a tree.
Casey sustained severe wounds that claimed her life at the scene, while the medics transported the male driver to St. David’s Round Rock for treatment of unspecified injuries. There is no additional information, and the investigation remains active.
The TDPS in a statement reiterated to drivers the significance of minimizing distractions when on the roadway and not driving when tired. They also asked motorists not to drink and drive, obey traffic control devices, and always wear a seatbelt.
