In the state of California, motor vehicle accidents are not entirely uncommon. One of the common causes is distracted driving. It takes a driver three seconds to crash while oblivious; thus, a motorist must avoid calling, texting, or eating when behind the wheel.
Another factor, as seen in reports of car accidents, is the impairment of drivers. The term defines a motorist who drives under the influence of drugs or alcohol, or both. The two affect a person’s cognitive ability and lead to reckless and dangerous driving, with an accident resulting.
Other factors include speeding, wrong-way driving, illegal lane change, tailgating, and running red lights. Traffic officials also list adverse road conditions, underlying medical conditions, and adverse weather conditions like snow, fog, and rain, as causes of motor vehicle accidents.
