CANYON COUNTRY, CA – Authorities have identified the woman killed in a single-vehicle accident on State Route 14 in Canyon Country on Monday morning.
According to KHTS, authorities were alerted of a crash in the southbound lanes of SR-14 just north of Sand Canyon Road around 2:23 a.m.

When officers arrived, they discovered the crash involved a single vehicle and resulted in a fatality. The preliminary investigation revealed that a 2006 Jeep Laredo veered off the road and into the right shoulder, where it struck a highway sign pole and the metal guardrail.
Officer Josh Greengard with the California Highway Patrol Newhall office said the crash ripped the car into two pieces, killing the driver.
Officials said the incident did not result in any lane closures.
