The impact from the collision caused Cox’s truck to enter westbound lanes of traffic. The truck then struck a Pontiac Grand Am driven by Kristen Gerving.
Cox and Gerving required medical attention after the chain of events. Emergency Medical Service paramedics transported both to Blessing Hospital via ambulance.
Clark received a charge of failure to reduce speed to avoid an accident. Because of the negligence that Clark showed causing the accident, both drivers may qualify for compensation. Cox has the right to obtain legal counsel that specializes in Illinois rear-end collisions.
Traffic diverted down 63rd after the accident because only one lane of westbound Broadway was accessible. All three of the involved vehicles required towing from the scene.
There has not been an update on the condition of Cox or Gerving at this time. The Adam’s County Sheriff is still investigating the accident.
