It took place precisely west of North Quincy Road shortly after 1 p.m. The suspect’s car collided with another vehicle on the roadway, leaving at least one person injured. The man then fled the scene on foot, leading to a search by the police.
The police brought their helicopter and a K9 team to help in the search for Huddleston. Parmely said that it took an off-duty officer to locate the suspect who was hiding in the backyard of a home in the 1600-block of Smith Drive, roughly a block away from the accident scene.
The off-duty lawman detained the man and held him until other officers arrived. The police booked him on felony burglary warrant as well as charges of possession of a stolen vehicle, and auto theft. Huddleston is also facing two counts of hit-and-run with injury, hence the car accident lawyer.
