A substantial power outage was caused by an accident on March 1 in the area of Prospect Street. Reports indicated it was due to a single-vehicle collision caused by 38-year-old Ami Begin of Lakeville.
Begin told police that she was too busy looking at her GPS when she crashed into the pole. Based on her behavior and the accident scene, the Cambridge police took a closer look at her and her vehicle.

Begin had admitted that she had been dosed with phenobarbital earlier in the day, but police noticed her to have pinpoint pupils, slurred speech, and she was unsteady.
She voluntarily submitted to a field sobriety test to determine if she was capable of driving. They concluded that she was too impaired to drive. She was arrested for operating under the influence.
A closer investigation of her car uncovered a massive quantity of prescription drugs, marijuana, and paraphernalia.
The ultimate charges that Begin was charged with was operating under the influence of drugs, reckless operation of a vehicle, unsafe operation of a vehicle, possession of a class B drug, possession of a Class E drug, and not having a valid inspection sticker.
She was also issued a City Ordinance violation for possessing marijuana in an open container in her vehicle.
It has not bee determined if Begin was planning on distributing prescription medications or if they were for personal usage.
A violation of the City Ordinance violation could cost Begin up to $500. An open container is considered any packaging that has a broken seal. It would need to be transported the same way alcohol is if the seal is broken. The best place is in the trunk or a locked glove compartment.
In the state of Massachusetts, marijuana is legal for recreational use as long as it is not in public or does not present a danger.
