The woman lost control of the vehicle, causing it to veer right across all lanes, onto the right shoulder, and into an embankment. The Avalon rolled over and rested on McGary Road, which runs parallel to Highway 80. Medics transported Church to North Bay Medical Center, where she succumbed to her wounds.
The CHP said that a passenger in the victim’s car suffered injuries and received treatment at the same hospital. The investigators have not determined if drugs or alcohol played a role in the crash, and the investigation remains active.
