The vehicle continued off the north shoulder of the highway and collided with a tree before overturning into a group of trees. The Dodge rested on its roof, and Beard, who had severe wounds, died at the scene. The CHP said that the man was wearing a seat belt when he crashed, but it is unknown at this time if drugs, alcohol, or both played a role in the accident.
Road traffic accidents are not uncommon in California and claim lives daily. Safety tips for drivers include driving within the legal speed limit and slowing down when trying to make a turn or negotiate a curve. Wear a seat belt at all times, avoid eating, texting, or calling distractions, and focus on the road.
Carry out vehicle maintenance frequently, check and adjust the side and rear-view mirrors before driving, and turn on the headlight at night. Additionally, drive during friendly weather, maintain a single lane, and get adequate rest before driving.
