A semi had come to a stop at a stop sign at State Loop 464, but the truck driver failed to yield to the oncoming Taurus. Both of the vehicles collided as a result of the truck’s failure to yield the right-of-way.
After the accident, George was transported to Ward Memorial Hospital with extremely serious injuries. He was pronounced dead while he was still being treated by Ward Memorial staff.
The driver of the truck was also accompanied by a passenger in the cab. Neither of the occupants of the truck was injured or reported any injuries while they were at the scene.
Whiplash is a common injury in a car accident that can often take time for the onset of symptoms to present themselves. Whiplash is when the head and neck continue to go in a forward motion and is suddenly jerked back with the impact of the accident.
The names of the truck driver and their passenger have not been released at this time regarding the accident. There have also been no other identifying markers reported about them either.
Although no formal charges have been filed, based on the failure of the truck driver to yield the right-of-way to the Taurus that was being driven by George, it is possible that once the investigation is completed there could be some charges to follow.
The Texas Department of Public Safety is still investigating the aspects of the accident and have not released any final statements about it as of publication time.
