The Orange County Police is investigating a collision involving a jaywalking pedestrian, a motorcycle rider, and a passenger vehicle. On Sunday, July 19th, the Orange County Coroner’s Office, named 51-year-old Mark Palacios as the fatal victim of the crash that occurred on Beach Boulevard, Stanton, California.
Facts from the accident report showed that the man rode a motorcycle on the roadway moments before the collision on Sunday. The preliminary investigation uncovered a vehicle near Katella Avenue swerved to avoid striking the jaywalker and Palacios, who could not evade the car, slammed into it.

The motorcyclist died at the scene of the crash, and the paramedics pronounced him dead. The occupants of the vehicle were unharmed in the collision. The police said that the first responders could not find the pedestrian, and the area where he or she was jaywalking is a major street.
The police are actively investigating the case, and they are looking for the unknown pedestrian. Anyone with relevant information should contact the investigators at the Orange County Sheriff’s Department station in Stanton.
Under the California Vehicle Code 21955 VC, a pedestrian must not cross the road anywhere other than a designated crosswalk between adjacent intersections controlled by traffic lights or by police officers.
