Accidents occur at road construction sites when drivers and workers fail to follow the safety rules. They include correctly maintaining traffic, creating separate work areas, wearing proper safety equipment, and avoiding blind spots. Construction workers should be aware of their surroundings, have a competent person on hand, have a site safety plan, and start each workday with a team safety meeting.
