The police said that the Porsche driver pulled out of a parking lot in front of the motorcyclist, causing the collision. Medics took Mora to the hospital, where he remained until his death on Tuesday, September 29th.
The LBPD said there’s no evidence that distracted or impaired driving played a part in the occurrence. Anyone with information on the accident should contact the police on the listed line, or the LA Crime Stoppers on the helpline 800-222-TIPS.
Accidents take place at the least expected times, and for several reasons; thus, it is best to avoid them by exercising care and caution. Drivers backing out of driveways or parking lots should ensure the road behind them is clear, and there’s no oncoming traffic.
Motorcyclists should operate their motorcycles within the legal or posted speed limit to enable them to apply the brake on time to avoid collisions. Avoid following vehicles closely, keep adequate space, and avoid lane splitting and weaving in and out of traffic.
