On Wednesday, September 30th, the Oceanside Police Department and the San Diego County Medical Examiner’s Office publicly identified the woman killed in an accident in Oceanside, California. Carol Ann Aguirre, a 68-year-old transient, died after a tractor ran her over.
The accident report showed that around 10 a.m. on Monday, September 28th, the victim slept on a beach fully clothed. The police said that the woman was in the 1200-block of North Pacific Street when the tractor, which was being used for a dredging project hit her.

Spokesman Tom Bussey said that the tractor belonging to Manson Dredge Co. was northbound on the beach. The driver failed to see Aguirre lying on the sand and ran her over. The medical examiner’s office said that she died from her injuries at the scene.
Bussey noted that there was no presence of drugs or alcohol as factors in the accident. He added that it was not clear if the victim was in a work zone closed to the public when the incident happened.
