The act caused the teenager to crash into a gray 2012 Kia, driven by Bradford. The impact flipped the second vehicle to its side while it headed into the interstate’s middle lane. It collided with the trailer of a black 2013 Freightliner semi-truck.
The man suffered injuries, and medics took him to an area hospital for treatment. The ISP did not state if the wounds were life-threatening, but they disclosed that they cited Misialik for improper lane usage and driving an uninsured car.
Under Illinois law, a driver gets cited for improper lane usage when the person fails to stay within his or her lane or is weaving within the path in an unsafe manner. The law states explicitly that a motorist must drive a vehicle within a single lane and shall not move from such lane until he or she ascertains that such movement can be made safely.
