A motorcycle rider identified as Johnathon Kautz, 40, passed away in a solo crash in Temecula, California. The Riverside County Sheriff deputies said in the accident report that the incident happened late Saturday night, July 11th.
The lawmen said that speed played a role in the crash as the victim sped along a stretch of Solano Way, about a quarter-mile east of Calle Aranda. Kautz was eastbound when he lost control of his bike at about 11:18 p.m. and slammed into a tree.

When deputies arrived at the crash site, they found the victim unresponsive and provided first aid. The medics also tried to resuscitate the man, but he did not regain consciousness and they pronounced him dead.
The accident led to the closure of Solano Way between Calle Aranda and Del Rey Road while the investigators cleared the scene and gathered evidence. There is no additional information.
