The medics used an air helicopter to convey the woman to the hospital, and there’s currently no update on her condition. The investigation to determine what caused her to go off the road is ongoing.

A motor vehicle accident occurs when a car collides with another vehicle, a tree, debris, person, or stationary object. For a crash to be a single-vehicle accident, it means that only one vehicle was involved, and several factors — both human-made and external — contribute to the accident.

Common causes of single-vehicle crashes are intoxication of drugs or alcohol, recklessness, speed, animal sighting, adverse weather conditions like rain, snow, or fog, adverse road conditions, or distracted driving. A defective vehicle or underlying medical condition can also cause this type of accident.

Drivers can prevent the above by following the road’s rules and making safety a key priority when in transit. Also, frequent and routine car maintenance rules out defects and goes a long way in preventing crashes.
