Investigations conducted on the scene of the accident showed that the victim was driving his automobile on the roadway at an undisclosed speed. For unknown reasons, Maldonado’s vehicle spiraled out of control and crashed. The teenager did not survive the accident, and first responders pronounced him dead at the scene.

The accident reports failed to ascertain whether drugs and alcohol contributed to the crash, or if speed was a factor. No other information regarding the accident is available at this time.

The Orange Police Department is investigating the case to determine what caused Maldonado to lose control and crash his vehicle. Possible causes include speed, intoxication by drugs or alcohol, distracted driving, mechanical faults, or a potential road hazard.

Detectives would consider all these factors during the investigation, and release additional findings in subsequent accident reports.

Commuters should endeavor to adhere to all traffic regulations when using roadways. Also road users should strive to report car accidents whenever witnessed to ensure a timely response, and increase the victim’s chances of survival.
