The death of two women in a traffic collision in the Vacaville area of California during a police chase calls for the involvement of a car accident lawyer. The incident took place on Tuesday, June 2, according to the California Highway Patrol records.

CHP Solano spokesperson, Dave Harvey, said the vehicle, traveling at a high rate of speed while fleeing officers, crashed at Alamo Lane. One person survived the traffic wreck and was in police custody on Tuesday.

The fatal occurrence began when patrol officers spotted a motorist suspected of an undisclosed offense, and followed her in pursuit. The driver, identified as 21-year-old Tayshawn Larun Clayton, led officers in a heated chase through the Vacaville area. Police said two female passengers, Jaiah Metcalf, 21 of Elk Grove, and Alazae Jeffery, 19, of Sacramento, were traveling alongside the suspect in the vehicle.

The motorist continued the flight towards Almo Lane, where she eventually crashed while attempting to pass the Alamo Drive exit, near the 1400 block. The vehicle ended up disabled a few feet from the AM-PM mini-market, with the two passengers unresponsive.

First responders pronounced Metcalf and Jefferey deceased, while Clayton suffered non-life-threatening injuries. Deputies conveyed the survivor to a local hospital to receive medical aid, before detaining her at the county jail, with a bail set at $183,333.

She remains held on two counts of gross vehicular manslaughter, and one count each of eluding police causing serious bodily injury or death, and drug-related DUI causing bodily injury.

It is advisable for anyone involved in a mishap such as this, to employ the services of an experienced car accident lawyer.
