The arrest of a suspected DUI motorist in the Woodland area of California, after striking two other vehicles at an intersection calls for the expertise of a drunk driving attorney. Police recorded the incident on Tuesday afternoon, May 26.

The Woodland Police Department reported the incident, which began with a hit-and-run crash at the intersection of East Street and E. Main Street. No fatality resulted from the incident, but officers said several people ended up with potentially non-life-threatening injuries, which were treated at the scene.

Preliminary reports suggested the occurrence began when a patrol officer witnessed a traffic wreck in the area involving at least three vehicles. According to the reports, one of the cars, driven by 41-year-old Jason Zurney, of Woodland, failed to yield to other vehicles at the intersection. As a result, his vehicle crashed into at least two other vehicles also moving through the intersection at the time.

The suspect fled the scene soon after the encounter, prompting the lawman to follow in pursuit. The chase continued until the officer intercepted him in the area of Lincoln Avenue and Third Street.

Zurney appeared intoxicated when the officer restrained him. Tests conducted on the suspect revealed blood/alcohol levels of 0.30, exceeding the legal limits by about four times.

The officer arrested the suspect, on felony counts of hit-and-run causing injury, DUI resulting in injury. He also faces charges of failure to yield and driving without a license.

Anyone involved in a DUI-related crash can contact a drunk driving attorney for counsel and representation.
