The preliminary report disclosed that a commercial farming truck that was traveling on the roadway was making a lane change when a 2010 Prius rear-ended it. The second vehicle was heading southbound on Road 80 towards Visalia.

Delgadillo was riding as a passenger in the Prius, and she sustained severe wounds that claimed her life at the scene. The male driver of the vehicle lived long enough to make it to Kaweah Delta Medical Center, but he passed away while receiving treatment.

The medics took a 16-year-old back seat passenger to the same hospital as the driver in critical condition. There’s no update on the person’s condition at this time. The investigation into the crash is ongoing.

Vehicle collisions occur for several reasons, and most times, it ends fatally for those involved. The common causes are speeding, illegal lane change, wrong-way driving, distracted driving, and running red lights. Traffic authorities advise drivers to desist from the preceding, and if a crash occurs, file the accident report as soon as possible.
