A car accident report in Tyler County, Texas, tells the story of a man who died and another who survived a single-vehicle crash on Wednesday morning, May 20th. The authorities identified the two as Dietrich Hart, 55, and Robert Hadnot, 51.

The preliminary report showed that the pre-dawn accident occurred a little about 5 a.m. on Farm to Market Road 256, about 5 miles east of Colmesneil. Sgt. Stephanie Davis, with the Texas Department of Public Safety, said that Hadnot was driving a 2008 Ford Focus on the westbound lane of the roadway.

The sergeant said that for unknown reasons, the vehicle went off the roadway and rolled several times. The rollover crash ejected Hart from the car, while Hadnot remained inside. The authorities said the passenger was not wearing a seat belt, while the driver was belted down.

The medics used a land ambulance to take the two to Tyler County hospital in Woodville, where the medical personnel pronounced Hart dead. The driver survived with extensive injuries, and his current condition is unknown.

The TDPS did not state if the investigation into the accident is ongoing, and there’s no additional information.

Single-vehicle crashes occur for several reasons ranging from the carelessness of drivers to factors beyond their control. Traffic officials advise drivers to ensure they drive carefully, obey traffic rules, and regularly maintain their vehicles.

When a crash occurs, those involved should report the car accident immediately to enable first responders to arrive timeously.
