One man from Muskegon, West Michigan, was pinned underneath his car while working on it and lived to tell the tale. The accident report update released on Sunday, May 17th, disclosed that Duane Braden is doing well and thankful to the tow truck driver who rescued him.
The event that would have led to the man’s demise, according to him, took place in his garage on Saturday, May 16th. Braden, like most car owners, decided to fix the gas tank of his ’96 Chevy Trailblazer. He was well into the task when the car jack he was using gave out and pinned him under the automobile.

The victim said that the vehicle suddenly began rolling, and there was nothing he could do. While gasping for air, he muttered a silent prayer and asked for someone to help him. Thankfully, Braden’s daughter and son-in-law were nearby, and they called 911.
While dispatchers were looking for first responders to send to the location, Rob Douglas, with 1st Class Towing, heard of the incident over the scanner and drove to the victim’s house. The man found Braden under the car when he arrived and got him out by hooking the Chevy’s back bumper with the tow truck’s wheel lift.
When the medics arrived, they took the man to the hospital for treatment of a broken collarbone, cuts on his arm, legs, and ear. The accident report showed that the victim spent the night in the hospital before getting released on Sunday.
Braden visited Douglas and thanked him for saving his life after the near-fatal occurrence. He advised car owners to use blocks when working on cars, and ensure they have people around.
