Nielsen was riding his motorcycle on the roadway and was attempting to make a left turn when for unknown reasons, he collided with a truck. The responding medics transported the man to Desert Valley Hospital, where he passed away while undergoing treatment.

The authorities did not disclose the identity or the condition of the truck driver. They also failed to state whether the unnamed motorist was negligent in any way. The accident remains under investigation, and anyone with relevant information should contact the Victorville CHP office on the listed line.

Auto-motorcycle collisions are not uncommon in California as seen in accident reports. The Department of Motor Vehicles advises motorcyclists to wear the right gear when riding. It gives them a better chance of surviving accidents and prevents severe injuries.

The Cal-DMV advise that bikers wear the US-DOT compliant helmet with face and eye protection. They should also wear protective apparels like leather, or a long sleeve jacket with reflective materials, long heavy pants, over the ankle closed toe-boots and full-fingered leather gloves.
