The Lieutenant said that the young man was heading east on the roadway when for unknown reasons, he lost control of the truck and went off the road. Stallings added that the vehicle rolled into a tree at the side of the road, leaving the sole occupant with extensive wounds.
Smith died at the scene, and the authorities pronounced him dead. The GSP believes that no other vehicle was involved in the accident. There is no additional information at this time.
A single-vehicle crash frequently occurs in Georgia and the United States for several reasons that lie within and outside the driver’s control. Some of these factors include speeding, taking turns quickly, adverse road conditions, impairment, distracted driving, adverse weather conditions, and manufacturer’s defect.
Traffic authorities advise motorists to mitigate the above to prevent car crashes for their safety and that of other road users. Those who witness or are involved in car accidents should immediately file an accident report with the relevant authorities.
