While the chase was ongoing, Deleonardo was turning left to head north on Moreland Avenue, near Constitution Road. Suddenly, the car involved in the pursuit collided with the teenager’s automobile, leaving her with fatal injuries.
Responding paramedics pronounced the teenage driver dead at the scene, while Armstead, her passenger, ended up at Grady Memorial Hospital for treatment. The latter sustained severe wounds, and her conditions remain critical.
The four suspects in the fleeing car also sustained unspecified wounds and the medics took them to Grady. The GSP identified the quartet as Sabastian Miles, 28, of Riverdale, Rodney Harris, 44, of Fayetteville, Motreaz Harris, 28, of Atlanta, and Brandon Wyldon, 31, of Riverdale.
The investigators did not state the possible charges the four would face, and the CCSO has not made a public sentence on the crash. The investigation is ongoing, and the authorities will provide an update at a later time.
