Ledesma was riding a Honda sportbike on Flosden when for unknown reasons, he collided with the passenger side of an Acura Integra that was turning onto Daniel Drive. The teenager sustained significant injuries, and first responders rushed him to the Queen of the Valley Medical Center. He died while receiving treatment.

The Acura driver, who remains unidentified, was not injured in the accident and stayed at the scene. The crash led to the closure of Flosden Road for five hours as investigators performed preliminary investigations.

There is no additional information about the accident at this time, and the investigation remains ongoing.

Auto-motorcycle crashes, as seen in accident reports, lead to the death of the motorcyclist due to the exposed nature of a bike. The California Department of Motor Vehicles Motorcycle Handbook for those preparing to ride advice riders to wear the right gear.

Motorcycle riders have a better chance of survival when they have on protective gear and apparel. The two include a US-DOT safety helmet that covers the eye and face, leather jacket, long heavy pants, over the ankle-closed toe boots, and full-fingered leather gloves.
