A drunk driving attorney would come in handy following the identification of the man killed in a vehicle collision in San Jose, California. The Santa Clara County Medical Examiner-Coroner’s Office on Tuesday, May 5th, released the victim’s name as Calvin W. Green, 70.
The coroner said that the older man died in the alleged DUI crash that took place in the area of Almaden Expressway and Branham Lane early Sunday, May 3rd. The San Jose Police Department said that moments before the accident occured, Green was heading west on Branham in a 2004 Hyundai Tiburon.

At the same time, a 2006 Nissan Murano heading north on Almaden ran a red light at the intersection. The act caused the car and the Hyundai to collide, with the latter going on to slam into a 2019 Tesla stopped at the intersection.
Green sustained severe wounds that claimed his life, and the paramedics pronounced him dead. The driver of the Tesla went unscathed, and the 32-year-old man driving the Nissan sustained non-life-threatening wounds. The medics took him to an undisclosed hospital for treatment.
The SJPD determined that the Nissan driver was under the influence of drugs, alcohol, or a combination of both at the time of the collision. They booked the suspect into the Santa Clara County Jail on vehicular manslaughter and DUI charges, hence the drunk driving attorney.
There is no additional information at this time, and the investigation into the crash remains active.
