A drunk driving attorney represented Strok at a bond hearing Friday in Cook County.
Strok at about 4:20 a.m. Thursday ran through a red light at Washington and Clark streets. His vehicle collided with a Chicago Transit Authority bus, sending it crashing through the front windows of a local bank branch.
The driver of the bus and two passengers, neither of whom were named in documents available Friday, suffered injuries. They and Strok were transported to a nearby hospital to receive treatment, authorities said.
Police later arrested Strok on various charges. Prosecutors said during the bond hearing that they found a rifle and a large amount of ammunition in his vehicle, as well as what was described as an anti-government manifesto in his trunk.
Strok’s drunk driving attorney told the court Friday that the alleged manifesto actually was a piece of fiction from the internet.
A judge set Strok’s bond at $250,000.
